Tenth Annual Young Artists String Quartet Competition

The Boise Chamber Music Society is pleased to announce the results of the Tenth Annual Young Artists String Quartet Competition, as judged Saturday, Apr. 25, by the Dover Quartet, who performed the night before on the Boise Chamber Music Series.

The Pre-College Competition, including the $800 prize, was won by the Wolfgang Quartet from Boise High School: Minji Ko, violin; Ellie Hunt, violin; Sara Matlock, viola; Emma Schwartz, cello; coached by Laurel Talley, and performing works by Beethoven and Shostakovich.

The Collegiate Competition, including the $1000 prize, was won by Boise State’s Quartet 219: Yonsoo Park, violin; Luke Koenig, violin; Elizabeth Becker, viola; Alex Knudson, cello; coached by Brian Hodges, Linda Kline Lamar, & Craig Purdy
and performing works by Prokofiev and Mendelssohn.
