Ninth Annual Young Artists String Quartet Competition

The Boise Chamber Music Society is pleased to announce the results of the Ninth Annual Young Artists String Quartet Competition, as judged Saturday, Apr. 12, by the members of the Ying Quartet, who performed the night before on the Boise Chamber Music Series.

First place, including the $800 prize, in the Pre-College round was awarded to the Timberline High String Quartet: Juhee Lim and Alexis Waltz, violins; Charles Kramer, viola; and Ahmi Lim, cello; coached by Phyllis Saunders, and performing works by Borodin and Beethoven. The Pre-College second-place prize of $600 was awarded to Caldwell High School Quartet: Lauren McKinnon and Kelsie Hammer, violins; Emily Hatch, viola; and Haley Hilton, cello; coached by Gini Rosandick. The Mousiki Quartet from Wood River High School, coached by Rebecca Martin, took home a third-place prize of $240 worth of gift certificates from Telford and Sons Violin store of Boise.
