Season Subscription information
Boise Chamber Music Series 2013-14 season subscriptions still available.
The 2013-14 season continues with the Czech Republic's up-and-coming Zemlinsky String Quartet, specializing in performing and recording the works of the great Czech composers such as Dvorak, Martinu, and Janacek, as well as those of Austrian composer, conductor and teacher Alexander Zemlinsky (1871-1942). Their Nov. 1 concert features Haydn, Zemlinsky, and Beethoven. Founded in 1994, Zemlinsky Quartet has won numerous international competitions, toured all over Europe, North and South America, and Asia, and since 2007 has recorded extensively and exclusively for Praga Digitals.
On Feb. 7, Gryphon Trio returns for their third appearance on the BCMS, promising another unforgettable program of cutting-edge new music and profound standards. Canada's pre-eminent piano trio includes pianist Jamie Parker, violinist Annalee Patipatanakoon, and cellist Roman Borys. Also back for their third performance in Boise is the Ying Quartet, in residence at the Eastman School of Music, and promising a definitive finish to the Series in a program of Samuel Barber's beloved Op. 11 (with the famous Adagio), Dvorak's Op. 51, and a brand-new quartet by Lera Auerbach, in its west-of-the-Mississippi premiere, on Apr. 11.
